For many years, the Good Shepherd Home for the homeless was the only source of solace and safety for many of Jamaica's displaced, mentally and physically challenged individuals. Individuals who were most desperately in need of care, love, healing, somewhere to sleep, a shelter from the elements of nature, and the dangers of verbal and physical abuse in the streets. Sadly, on the night of August 27, 2019, the Good Shepherd Home was destroyed by fire.

Rendering it uninhabitable to this day. Leaving these vulnerable Jamaicans without the shelter and comfort that they so badly need.

The Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) was made aware of this plight by Father Ho Lung, founder of the Missionaries of the Poor, to which the JSE made a donation and a commitment to launch the #RebuildGoodShepherd campaign through the JSSE, to help restore the Good Shepherd Home to what it once was. We urge you to please join us in this mission. As a nation, we have always been mindful of the needs of others. Moreso, the needs of those who are less fortunate than us.
